The Youth of the Year program is a Boys & Girls Clubs of America program that recognizes teens for outstanding contributions to their family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club, as well as personal challenges and obstacles overcome. Through an exhaustive process six of our Clubs identifies the member that is their best representative. From these six one member is selected as the 2017 Youth of the Year and has the honor to represent Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Indiana State competition. If selected again they then go on to the Midwest regional level – and ultimately can become one of six regional winners meeting each September in Washington D.C. to compete for the National Youth of the Year title.
